Now that the YOG has come to an end, I feel very sad and also happy. Sad because the YOG have already ended. YOG will be held in Singapore maybe.. thousand years later? Happy because I have a chance to experience the once-in-a-lifetime YOG. I saw horses, people riding on horses, I heard no sounds, no cheering, execept the horses's sound. This is because we are not supposed to make any sound or it will disturn the horses. I felt the spectators cheers in their heart, as if they were saying: Go Singapore!Go!The moments that was most memorable to me was when the gold medalist winner shook hands with the YOG employees as it was a once in a lifetime experienc for them and I feel happy for them. The moment which they reminded us about Friendship, Respect and Excellence was these moments.
ReplyDeleteExcellence- The people who are participating tried their best to win a medal for their country.
Respect- They all respect their horses, they did not hit their horses or anything.
Friendship- They shook hands with winners and even smiled at them.
I felt happy because this year the YOG is heel at Singapore.
ReplyDeleteI felt very happy to be a spectator at the fencing show. They showed respect by greeting each other before they fenced. The winners also shook hands with the losers. The fencers also showed a good sportsman that is the excellence.
ReplyDeleteI was very happy to see the YOG match between Singaporeans and Japanese. It also has the match of Singapore's sister versus a country I don't know what is the country called. But I am willing yo know. It was so intresting the way they hit the ball. I will not forget this day in the match of Singapore.
ReplyDeletethe handball game was very exciting. they used hands to hit the ball into the goal.but it is sad that the YOG has come to an end i hope the YOG will come to singapore again.

Today, we went to watch a YOG volleyball match. We went to the Toa Payoh Indoor Stadium. We were given a pair of clappers at the entrance and were made to go for a security check. Oh my gosh! It was like we were at the airport! Once we cleared the security check, we found seats at the front and second row, giving us a clear view of what was going on in the stadium. First up was Singapore versus Japan. They took quite some time on warming up, giving us a lot of time to inflate our clappers. Before the real game, the announcers announced each school’s name. when they called our school name, one of my friends blew a plastic trumpet. During the real game all of us squeezed in front so that we could get a good shot of the game. You know that plastic trumpet guy, she blows it whenever Singapore gets a point. At the end of the game, we were very upset as Singapore lost to Japan.

ReplyDeleteThe Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games is the first Youth Olympics ever to be held. The participants will be able to participate in 26 summer Olympics sports as well as a Culture and Education programme with over 50 activities.
ReplyDeleteThe lighting of the Youth Olympic torch in Olympia, Greece, has been done specially for the first ever Youth Olympic Games in the traditional form of the lighting ceremony where the flame was lit using an ancient method where the rays of the sun are reflected in a skaphia. The torch has gone to Berlin (Germany), Dakar (Senegal), Mexico City (Mexico), Auckland (New Zealand) and Seoul (South Korea).
I think that there was alot of people over there and it was a good expirence

My experince was found on 22nd of August 2010. The experince was the best experince in my life! I saw Isabelle Li play Table Tennis, she played as gracefully as a swan with a swing and a sway. She won a silver medal for Singapore. I was expecting a gold one but it was ok. Just do your best in whatever you do. If you are focused and determined to achieve your aim... You will very often succeed.

I am very happy that i can be a spectator of YOG. I am also proud that Singapore can win 2 silvers and 5 bronze
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing because singapore has won 7 medals altogether, 2 sliver and 5 bronze medals. I went to singapore indoors studiam to watch players play ping-pong.I am happy to get this not common change.
ReplyDeleteI went to the Table Tennis Competition, we all cheered for Isabelle, although we got sliver but we were proud to be Singaporeans.I learnt that win or lose is not everything,as long as you strive hard and train hard, one day you will have your dreams fulfilled. My teacher told me win or lose is not everything but if you win, you must win in an honest way, if you lose, at least you have played in an honest way. My dream is, when I grow up, I want to be like Isabelle I will train hard and play in an honest way so that I can make Singapore proud.

ReplyDeleteI went to watch Volleyball. The most memorable time was when Singapore was getting higher points then Japan. The moment that tells me about friendship and respect was when both teams came together to shake hands after a game and congratulated each other. What excellence means to me during the game is when a team is playing, it strives to do the best for their country.
ReplyDeleteThe YOG Volleyball is very interesting because their aiming is directly at the person.Their hands are strong and they are tall.

ReplyDeleteThe YOG was very interesting, I enjoyed watching the Gymnastics because the athletics’ performance was really eye-opening, you can see them really putting in a lot of effort. What surprises me is their flexibility; they can actually put a hard ball on their backs and put their legs all the way in front of their heads!
ReplyDeleteI also like watching the Swimming competition; I enjoy seeing them swim because they look very funny when they try to swim very fast. You can see their funny faces and it really looked very funny!

We leaved when they finished 1 round ( Brazil VS Russia ) Russia won and Brazil actually lose . I like ping-pong.
ReplyDeleteI watched the Women's Handball, Russia versus Brazil, altough russia won, winning is not as important than friendship, respect or excellence. During the match, I saw the teams trying to score a point hard as they can as they were playing, one of the Brazillian players fell down because one of the Russian players pushed her.I thought that was very bad of her to do that as if she pushed her, she would be timed out and she cannot play. As Russia started to lose points to Brazil, Russia still tried as hard as they can, so as a matter of fact, Russia won the match.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite sport is Badminton. I like Badminton because it is fun and exciting. When I first play Badminton I felt nervous because I do not know how to play. When I know how to play Badminton I was very happy because I can play with my parents on Saturday or Sunday.

ReplyDeleteOn 22 August 2010,I went to Toa Payoh Sports Hall to watch a match between for the girls Singapore and Japan. And the boys Serbia and Haiti. At the starting of every game they shook hands with each other to show respect. Then they went to the side of the hall and discuss about the game plan. Then, one of the judges will press a button to signal them th starting of the game. For the first match, both teams played very well but sadly Japan wins the match. The second was the most spactacular show I've ever seen! When they were warming up, both teams threw the ball very high till the ball touched the roof and I notised some people from Haiti are surporting for their country and I tried to follow them. It was the most amazing match but half way through the game, we must go back to school. On the way back to school, I notised that in the match Haiti will lead. So I gussed Haiti will win.
ReplyDeleteFor Friendship and Respect, they shake hands before they start the game.
For Excellence, they will try very hard to win the match.Even they lose they will shake hands with the winners.
I am happy to be a spectator for this match that I will never forget.

ReplyDeleteHi I am Tan Xuan Zhi from 3/7, I felt very happy when I got a chance to see the match because it is held at Singapore. We went to Toa Payoh Stadium to watch the match, it was Singapore vs Japan, the Singapore shirt was red in colour while Japan shirt was black in colour. It took very long for them to warm up, but I am very exited to see whether Singapore or Japan will win, but while they where practising, me friends and I are happily taking pictures. Finally the real match started. The Japan started the throw, Singapore managed to throw the volley ball but they throw the ball out, I felt a little bit sad because the Japan team won a point. At last the results was out, the Japan won the match, but the two teams still shook hands and say congratulations. After the match ended, we waited for a while and the boys volley ball match started, it is Russia vs Sebia, they also took very long to practise, the Russia shirt was blue in colour while Sebia shirt was white and blue in colour, at first we where very exited. We only can watch half of the match, but we where still very excited, I think Russia will win.

ReplyDeleteThe sport that I watch is volleyall. It was held in Toa Payoh indoor stadium. When we got off the bus, we must queue up to make a security check. While we were walking up the stairs, they gave us a noise clapper and the straw to blow it. We sat down and blew our noise clappers. It was Singapore vs. Japan. Before the game started there was music. Me and my friends were singing quietly so that no one can hear us. Then, the game started. While the game started, we were cheering like mad peaple:) But of course Japan won. We did not boo or whatever instead we cheered for everyone. The word 'Everyone' reminds me of the YOG song. There were a few rounds of the games. After Singapore vs. Japan, It was Serbia vs. Russia. We support Russia because Beacon is a neighbour of Russia. While we were cheering, there four people behind us (from Russia) were cheering like mad people. There were the loudest to cheer. They made songs of Russia. We joined in too. We did not have a chance to watch the last two rounds but we had a best time in our entire life. When we were leaving, I was so sad because I am going to miss the YOG. My friends were sad too. I took so many picture thet my hand was so tired but I continued. I felt so happy that time.
ReplyDeleteThe YOG was great! I enjoyed watching the table tennis match.
